BRAZILIAN COFFEE

BRAZIL – the land of samba, carnival… and coffee

Although coffee originates from Ethiopia, Brazil is the largest producer of coffee in the world. Its harvest accounts for 1/3 of the entire world crop.
Brazil has several dominant regions where the coffee tree grows. These are mainly São Paulo, Paraná, Espirito, Rio de Janeiro and Santos. All are located in the southeastern part of the country.

The favourable Brazilian climate with its hot and humid air, fertile soil and the right altitude of the plantations are the factors that determine the taste of coffee.
Coffee trees in Brazil grow at lower altitudes than their Guatemalan or Costa Rican counterparts (800-1200 m. a. s. l.) resulting in much lower acidity and a milder taste.

The extraordinary taste and excellent aroma are appreciated by both professionals and lovers of “freshly roasted black coffee”.
It’s amazing how the world begins to change when seen through the eyes of a cup of coffee…
